The project brief

Heavy-duty hygienic flooring for food processing

In December 2022, Superior Resin Solutions completed this flooring refurbishment for Express Contract Drying Ltd at its Ebbw Vale facility.

The existing floor was damaged and stained and needed to be removed before the replacement system could be installed. Once the old flooring was taken up, the concrete beneath was found to be in reasonably good condition.

The exposed substrate was mechanically prepared by diamond grinding before the new flooring build-up began.

The project required a hard-wearing hygienic floor suitable for the operating conditions around food-processing equipment. SRS installed a 6–9mm Resdev Pumadur HF heavy-duty polyurethane floor screed in RAL 3001 red, together with hygienic coving and the coordinated perimeter detail.
